" Gillian is a Dancer ! "

 “ Gillian is a Dancer ! “

“Gillian is a seven-year-old girl who cannot sit in school.

She continually gets up, gets distracted, flies with thoughts, and doesn't follow lessons.

Her teachers worry about her, punish her, scold her, reward the few times that she is attentive, but nothing, she Gillian does not know how to sit and cannot be attentive.

When she comes home, her mother punishes her too.

So not only does she Gillian have bad grades and punishment at school, but she also suffers from them at home.

One day, Gillian's mother is called to school.

The lady, sad as someone waiting for bad news, takes her hand and goes to the interview room.

The teachers speak of illness, of an obvious disorder.

Maybe it's hyperactivity or maybe she needs a medication.

During the interview an old teacher arrives who knows the little girl.

He asks all the adults, mother and colleagues, to follow him into an adjoining room from where she can still be seen.

As he leaves, he tells Gillian that they will be back soon and turns on an old radio with music.

As the girl is alone in the room, she immediately gets up and begins to move up and down chasing the music in the air with her feet and her heart.

The teacher smiles as the colleagues and the mother look at him between confused and compassionate, as is often done with the old.

So he says: "See? Gillian is not sick, Gillian is a dancer!"

He recommends that her mother take her to a dance class and that her colleagues make her dance from time to time.

She attends her first lesson and when she gets home she tells her mother: "Everyone is like me, no one can sit there!"

In 1981, after a career as a dancer, opening her own dance academy and receiving international recognition for her art, Gillian Lynne became the choreographer of the musical "Cats."

Hopefully all “different” children find adults capable of welcoming them for who they are and not for what they lack ”.

Long live the differences, the little free sprits and black sheep, the misunderstood!!! They are the ones who create magic & beauty in this world...

" What Legacy will you Leave ? "

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H8ELK1sikI&t=142s&ab_channel=FearlessSoul

If I died today would I be proud of the life I lived?

Death… It’s the one thing that puts everything else into perspective.

Thinking about your own death, can be the best thing you can do for your LIFE… and how you LIVE that life before you die… Why? Because it forces you to reflect on some very important questions…

If I die tomorrow…Was I happy? Would I be proud of the person I have become?

Was there love in my life? Did I give enough love? Did I show those I love the REAL ME?

Did I live the life I WANTED TO LIVE? Or was my life made up of things I should’ve let go? How could I have brought more happiness to my life and the people I really cared about? Could I have done things better? Differently? How?

Will I be missed? What will I leave behind? Will anyone on earth be better because I was there?

Thinking about your own death forces you to self- examine your life… and gives you the OPPORTUNITY to take responsibility for that life… for all the areas you have not been at your best, and therefore the opportunity to DECIDE TO DO BETTER FROM THIS MOMENT FORWARD.

Sitting, alone, with your thoughts… and thinking about your passing is perhaps the healthiest thing you can do for your life if you want to improve it. And the truth is, none of us know if we are going to wake up tomorrow. None of us come here to earth with any guarantees.

That is why we should all… very often… think about the ONLY real guarantee… and this is of our death… and the possibility it might be sooner than we think… and because of that LEAVE NOTHING FOR TOMORROW.

If you don’t like who you’ve been up to this moment – MAKE A CHANGE… AND MAKE IT NOW.

If you have a broken relationship with someone you really love – MEND IT NOW. If you can give more love – GIVE IT NOW. If you can play more and work less – DECIDE AND COMMIT to that NOW. If you can do anything to improve the quality of your life – MAKE THAT COMMITMENT NOW.

Write down everything you must change in your life NOW. Everything that can not wait for tomorrow.

Every phone call you need to make. Every apology. Every hug you need to give. Everything you need to say.

Decide to stop caring about what other people think of you. Start living the life YOU really want to live. Start feeling the way you deserve to feel. Start loving the way YOU want to love.

Bring your defences down. Drop your guard and open your heart.

Write a list of the amazing experiences you’re going to commit to experience before you go.

Think about how much better all your relationships will be when you open up, when you are your true self, when you are PRESENT, living in the moment and let go of all care for others opinions and judgements.

Think about the amazing life you can live when you let go of societies expectations and the seriousness most people live with.

Get excited about your life. LOVE YOUR LIFE… while you are LIVING IT.

" Choose your Friends Wisely "

Choose your Friends wisely

During a prank, a student stuck a paper on his classmate's back that said "𝗜'𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗱", and asked the rest of the class not to tell the boy.

Thus the students began laughing on and off...

Came afternoon math class started and their teacher wrote a difficult question on the board.

No one was able to answer it except the boy with the sticker.

Amid the unexplained giggles, he walked toward the board and solved the problem.

The teacher asked the class to clap for him and remove the paper on his back.

She told him: "It seems that you don’t know about the paper your classmate has pasted on your back."

Then the teacher looked at the rest of the class and said:

"Before I give you a punishment, let me tell you 2 things:

First, throughout your Life, people will put labels on you with many nasty words to stop your progress.

Had your classmate known about the paper, he wouldn't have gotten up to answer the question.

𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻, 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳."

"Second, it’s clear that he doesn't have any loyal friend among you all to tell him about the sticker.

It doesn't matter how many friends you have - it is the loyalty you share with your friends that matters.

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲."

Choose your friends wisely!

Resilience : " Still I Rise " Maya Angelou

Still I Rise

Maya Angelou - 1928-2014

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
’Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
’Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

What is the meaning of Still I Rise?

Self-respect and Confidence

"Still I Rise" is primarily about self-respect and confidence. In the poem, Angelou reveals how she will overcome anything through her self-esteem. She shows how nothing can get her down. She will rise to any occasion and nothing, not even her skin colour, will hold her back.

How to be Resilient.

One definition of resilience is: the capacity to bounce back quickly from difficult situations. It is an inner trait that helps you adapt to the changing situation and keep moving forward. This past year, many of us have faced adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stress—such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems, or workplace and financial stressors.

MEDITATION: Nature has an inbuilt resilience. Things which appear to be dead are merely dormant and spring back to life once the conditions are right. It gives us hope that in the river of time, no matter how difficult the circumstances, we just have to wait for the water of life to come back and restore our fragile but precious sense of aliveness. How can you build your patience and reserves of energy? How can you connect with nature to understand its laws better?

Floating down the river of time, each one of us will meet our own set of obstacles, hurdles and difficulties. How we overcome them or deal with them is based on our resilience.

“Be like water making its way through cracks.”

Trying hard. Recharging. Trying again.
A river will stop flowing if it is not recharged.
It’s the same for humans.

Let this three-minute video be a meditation on resilience, taught by the rivers of the world.
