Rich v Poor

Poor Vs Rich

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the rural countryside with the firm purpose of motivating his son to work hard by showing him how poor people can be. The father wanted to prepare his son to take over managing the vast family fortune and estate.

They spent a couple of days and nights helping with the daily activities on the farm of a poor family. Sharing meals at night with the family, they learned a little about planning and life on the farm.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, 'How was the trip?'

'It was great, Dad.'

'Did you see how poor people can be?' the father asked.

'Oh Yeah' said the son.

'So what did you learn from the trip?' asked the father.

The son answered, 'I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, and they have many friends to protect them.'

With this, the boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, 'Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are.'

Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don't have. What is one person's worthless object is another's prize possession. It is all based on one's perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for all the bounty we have, instead of worrying about wanting more.

" Believe in Yourself "

Believe in yourself

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be.
That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.

There are times when people disappoint you and let you down.     But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.

There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.

Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.

So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.

Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.

Keep Believing in Yourself

Grandad knows best

Grandad knows best
An eight-year-old boy went to his grandfather and proudly announced, “I am going to be very successful when I grow up. Can you give me any tips on how to get there?”

The grandfather nodded, and without saying a word, took the boy by the hand and walked him to a nearby plant nursery. There, the two of them chose and purchased two small saplings. They returned home and planted one of them in the back yard.
The other sapling was placed in a pot and kept indoors.
“Which one do you think will be the most successful in the future?” asked the grandfather.
The boy thought for a moment and said, “The indoor tree.
It’s protected and safe while the outdoor one has to cope with the elements.”
The grandfather shrugged his shoulders and said, “We’ll see.”
The grandfather carefully tended to both plants and in a few years,
the boy, now a teenager came to visit.
“You never really answered my question from when I was a young boy. How can I become successful when I grow up?” he asked.

The old man showed the teenager the indoor tree and then took him
outside to have a look at the towering tree outside.
“Which one is bigger?” the grandfather asked.
“The outside one. But that doesn’t make sense,
it has to cope with many more challenges than the inside one.”

The grandfather smiled, “Yes, but the risk of dealing with challenges is worth it as it has the freedom to spread its roots wide and its leaves towards the heavens.
Boy, remember this and you be successful in whatever you do; If you choose the safe option all of your life you will never grow and be all that you can be, but if you are willing to face the world head-on with all of its dangers and challenges, the sky’s the limit.”

The young man looked up at the tall tree, took a deep breath and nodded his head, knowing that his wise grandfather was right.
The same is true for all of us.
Go now and plant that tree outside !

" Anthem " Leonard Cohen

                                                              Anthem    leonard Cohen
The birds they sang
at the break of day
Start again
I heard them say
Don't dwell on what
has passed away
or what is yet to be.
Ah the wars they will
be fought again
The holy dove
She will be caught again
bought and sold
and bought again
the dove is never free.

“Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.”

We asked for signs
the signs were sent:
the birth betrayed
the marriage spent
Yeah the widowhood
of every government --
signs for all to see.

I can't run no more
with that lawless crowd
while the killers in high places
say their prayers out loud.
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
a thundercloud
and they're going to hear from me.

“Ring the bells that still can ring ... “

You can add up the parts
but you won't have the sum
You can strike up the march,
there is no drum
Every heart, every heart
to love will come
but like a refugee.

“ Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in “

Tips for raising children

Tips for Raising Kids That Every Parent Grandparent Teacher Should Hear.

Michael Mitchell is a devoted American father who started a blog called "Life to Her Years". The point of his unique blog is to collect tips from different fathers about childhood-simple and accurate advice that will add life to their years, as the name implies. His blog, which has gained momentum, has become a popular paternity philosophy that inspires many people, and these are some of the interesting tips we found there after we "translated" them into tips for fathers, mothers, and children in general – as these tips are good for everyone.

1. Do not overdo it with gifts. The best gifts are the experiences you share with them.
2. Pick your kids up, it’s a great workout for your arm muscles.
3. Let them into your bed after a nightmare, a few minutes of cuddling will make that nightmare a distant memory.
4. Take your kids to the playground and when they ask you to push them on the swing higher and faster, remember that everything is relative.
5. When you want to comfort them after a difficult experience, don’t forget to hug. Touch is a human need, don’t forget that.

6. At some point, your kids will want to marry you, as weird as it sounds. Let them down gently.
7. Let them roll around in the grass and get dirty. The clean shirt that’s worth telling them no has yet to be invented.
8. Don’t miss their birthday parties. They might not remember the toy you bought them but they’ll never forget your presence.

8. Don’t be late when your children are waiting for you to pick them up from school or activities, which will make them anxious and stressed. If you are going to be late, always try to let them know.
9. Don’t be afraid to act silly and look stupid when you play with them. Your children will free you from the seriousness of the adult world.
10. Let them grab the wheel. Obviously not while you’re driving, but if you let them sit on your lap and grab the wheel for a few minutes, they’ll never forget how big they felt in that moment.
11. Once they learn how to kiss, kids will plant kisses all over your face. Don’t discourage this.
12. It's never too early to teach them about the value of money, think of it as a preparation for adulthood.
13. Let them sit on your shoulders. They will love to look at everything from above.
14. Praise them for their beauty, but remember to make clear that intelligence will take them further than how they look on the outside.
15. Teach them about the difference between "bad" and "good" and remember that they will imitate your actions and less what you tell them to do.

16. Take them for walks, go camping with them, and light a bonfire. This experience is irreplaceable and will teach them a lot about leaving their comfort zone and loving nature.
17. Teach them to change a flat tyre, install shelves in the house, fill holes in the wall and anything else that will serve them in the future.
18. There’s going to come a time where they will ask for a puppy, just say yes!
19. Learn to say "no" to some of their requests. Your children may be angry with you today, but in the future, they will be able to say "no" themselves, when someone crosses their boundaries.
20. Teach them to reach out to you in moments of distress and prove that you’ll be there for them when they need you.
21. Dance with your children, jump around and play with the music turned up, and they will learn from you about the value of happiness and not caring what others think.
22. Walk with them to the park and play some ball. More than being just exercise, it will be a lesson in self-confidence.
23. Teach them to say a prayer, it doesn't need to be a religious prayer necessarily, but only faith and aspiration for the best that they can ask from themselves and others.

24. Love the other parent of your children and show it. The world will be a much safer and understood place if they know that Mom loves Dad and Dad loves Mom.
25. Take them with you to work at least once. They’ll learn about the person you are and what you are doing to raise and support them.

26. Come up with a secret sign you can use when in a crowded place so they know you always see them.
27. Don’t pay too much importance to their grades, but to their behaviour. That’s more important for their future then how they do on tests.
28. Don’t tell them to hurry too much, one day you’ll hope that they will slow down for you.
29. Share your mistakes and teach them that no one is perfect and that pride should not prevent anyone from recognizing a mistake and apologizing for it.
30. Carry them to bed over your shoulder! This will make bedtime much more fun and looked forward to.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness  My father once said, “If they hurt you, forgive them, but never forget what they’ve done.” This has always been a reminder ...
